Technologies and Projects Contributing to African Environmental issues
Africa is now going through the dynamic growth; however, at the same time, Africa consequently need to confront multiple environmental problems including the sustainable management of natural resources, prevention of pollution, preservation of the diversity of organisms and improvement of disaster prevention.
At TICAD V and the Minamata Convention on Mercury in October, the Japanese Government declared to support the developing countries dealing with pollution and green growth that is invulnerable to climate changes. Japan is especially expected to utilize its experiences in public-private-partnership, new technologies and knowledge to help Africa solve its environmental issues such as the management of water resources.
In this section, we would like to introduce business attempts to manage environmental issues in Africa though private enterprises or activities through public-private-partnership. We will also present the cases of technological cooperation, ODA projects and new technologies that will be effective in dealing with environmental problems./p>
